Israeli strikes killed at least five Palestinians and wounded several others across the Gaza Strip on Monday, 2 November, according to the territory's health officials as reported by Pakistan's Dawn 2. A separate account, posted by Drop Site News and attributed to the outlet Ultra Palestine, put the number of Palestinians who died that day at seven 1.

The two figures are not directly comparable. The Ultra Palestine count, as relayed by Drop Site News, includes people who died on Monday of wounds sustained in earlier strikes, not only those killed in new attacks 1. The health officials' figure refers to people killed in Monday's strikes 2. The total of seven has not been independently confirmed, and other outlets reported between four and five deaths from Monday's attacks.

Accounts of the day's incidents described strikes in and around Khan Younis in southern Gaza, including the coastal al-Mawasi area, a strike on a vehicle in the Tel al-Hawa neighbourhood of Gaza City, and an attack in central Gaza. Reports differed on some details: one account described a bomb dropped from a quadcopter drone in central Gaza, while others described an airstrike there. A reported death from gunfire in Khan Younis could not be confirmed.

Gaza's Interior Ministry, which is run by Hamas authorities, was reported to have said that a police officer died on Monday of wounds suffered in an Israeli attack on police in al-Mawasi the previous day, raising the death toll from that attack to six. The ministry said the officers had been carrying out routine duties. It is not clear whether the officer is included in Monday's tallies cited by health officials 2 or by Ultra Palestine 1.

The Israeli military was reported to have said it carried out two strikes targeting Palestinian militants, without giving further details. Israel has accused Hamas of rearming and of carrying out attacks in breach of the ceasefire, accusations Hamas denies while blaming Israel for undermining the agreement.

The deaths come more than a year into a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect on 10 October 2025. Gaza health officials have been reported as counting more than 1,500 Palestinians killed since the truce began, while Israel has reported a small number of its soldiers killed in the same period. Palestinian authorities say more than 74,000 people have been killed in Gaza since October 2023. At least eight people were reported killed on Sunday, including the police officers in al-Mawasi.

Several points remain unresolved, including the exact number of people killed on Monday, how many of the reported deaths resulted from wounds sustained earlier, and the identity of those targeted in the strikes Israel said were aimed at militants 12.
