The Kyiv Independent reported on its Telegram channel late on 6 November that several waves of Russian ballistic missiles had targeted Kyiv. The outlet said the attack followed a warning from President Volodymyr Zelensky that a mass attack was coming 1.
According to the same post, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Russia was attacking infrastructure facilities near the city. The post did not say which facilities were involved or what damage resulted 1.
No casualty figures were given in the report, and no deaths or injuries have been confirmed in the material available. The account comes from a single outlet, and the claims have not been independently verified 1.
Earlier on 6 November, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of ballistic missile launches toward Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv and Sumy, in a report that has also not been confirmed. Separately, unconfirmed reports that day said Russian missiles had hit power plants in Ukraine, including the Kanev hydroelectric plant in Cherkasy Oblast.
The strikes come after a series of reported attacks elsewhere in Ukraine. Police reported on 5 November that a Russian strike on Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia Oblast killed at least 42 people, and a later report put the toll at 43. That followed a reported airstrike with a FAB-3000 bomb on the village on 4 November.
It remains unclear how many missiles were launched, how many were intercepted, and which sites were struck. Russian authorities have not been quoted in the available report.
