A gunman carried out a shooting attack in Kraków, Poland, on 7 November, according to social media channels reporting on the incident. Casualty figures differ between accounts and none has been independently confirmed.

The Telegram channel NEXTA reported that an attacker had been detained and, citing preliminary information, that two people had been killed and eight injured 1. The event record attributes the same figures to Hubert Cepła, a Polish fire service spokesperson, speaking to TVN24. The numbered sources do not include that interview directly, so it is not independently confirmed here.

A different account gave a higher toll. The channel Abu Ali Express said a terrorist dressed in military uniform had attacked with a rifle in a tourist area of the city, and that five people were killed and 13 wounded 2. The channel did not say how it obtained those figures.

Other accounts relayed by monitoring groups differ on what happened to the attacker. Some said police neutralised the attacker, while the fire service account referred to a detention. Some reports also said police officers were among the injured, and that Polish media described the attack as terrorist in nature. None of these claims is supported by the numbered sources here, and they should be treated as unverified.

A later report in the regional feed placed the shooting at Main Market Square in central Kraków and spoke of preliminary reports of five dead. That too remains a preliminary account.

The incident came on a day when Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine were also being reported, but nothing in the available material links the two.
